Questions
Frequently asked questions.
Can you repair an inherited or antique piece?
Yes. Heirloom and antique restoration is a core part of the work. George examines the piece first and explains what he sees before recommending anything.
Can you correct a previous repair?
Often, yes. Correcting work that another jeweler created or mishandled is something George has done throughout his career. Bring the piece in for an assessment.
Do I speak directly with George?
Yes. You work with George himself — not a counter clerk who sends the piece elsewhere.
Do I need an appointment?
Weekday visits are welcome during business hours. Saturdays are by appointment. Calling ahead is the surest way to have George’s time set aside for your piece.
Can you create a one-of-one piece?
Yes. George designs and fabricates original custom jewelry by hand, working with you through the whole process.
How is turnaround determined?
It depends entirely on the piece and the work involved. George gives you a realistic timeframe once he has seen it — there is no single answer that fits every job.
Can I send photographs before visiting?
Photographs help George understand the general nature of your request. A final recommendation may require an in-person inspection.
Where is the workshop located?
At 881 Dover Drive, Suite 140, in Newport Beach.
What should I bring to a consultation?
Bring the piece itself if you can, along with any documentation or history you have. If the piece cannot be moved safely, call first and George will advise.
How do you evaluate a difficult repair?
By examining the actual condition of the piece — the metal, the stones, and how it is holding together — rather than guessing from a description. That inspection is what makes an honest recommendation possible.
