This ring came in for restoration: a bezel-set ruby at the centre of applied gold ropework and granulation, framed by a beaded border, with deeply engraved scrollwork across the shoulders. Work like this is about reading the original maker’s hand first — granulation and beadwork can’t be brought back by machine, so the repair has to meet the piece on its own terms.
